GLENS FALLS, NY – The Rochester Americans traveled to play the Adirondack Flames this past Saturday. In a tight match, the Flames managed to edge out the Amerks, 2-1.
The Flames’ win was their eight straight.
Adirondack did all their damage in the first period when they got goals from Ben Hanowski and Bryce Van Brabant to build a 2-0 lead.
Rochester finally responded in the second with a goal off the stick of Mikhail Grigorenko on a blast that beat Brad Thiessen blocker side.
The Amerks’ Andrey Makarov faced 47 shots on the night and was stellar throughout, giving Rochester a chance but Thiesen was equal to the task in stopping 26 of 27 shots from the Americans. Game report by Joe Catalli
